Today, I received an email that, from an ODC job developer’s perspective, is as good as it gets.
I thought I would drop you a line and let you know what is up. A while back, a few of us in the office and a few departments recommended Brett for a merit pay award here at the City of Marshfield. To our dismay, Brett is not eligible because he is contracted with the city. In lieu of that merit pay, we are throwing him a surprise pizza lunch and awarding him with two custom street signs for all of his hard work and contributions to our departments.
I am sure you know by now that, outside of work, Brett has obtained his yellow belt in Aikido. He is the proud owner of my old yellow belt, which is a tradition amongst our dojo – the handing down of senior student’s belts to worthy up-and-coming students.
Have a great day!
City of Marshfield
To watch one of the people that I’ve helped to find competitive employment being so valued and appreciated, and shown such respect and inclusion, is the BEST gift I could ever be given! This is truly the culmination of Brett’s last 13 years of hard work, growth, and development, and I’m so glad I’ve been able to be part of his incredible journey. So much of his success is due to the great people that have helped and supported him along the way, from everyone at ODC to all those coworkers and supervisors at his community jobs… so, if you’ve worked with Brett along the way, thank you for being a part of his success!
