ODC is pleased to offer 100 Days = 100 Smiles programming, funded through a Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation grant.
The program goals include healthy oral hygiene and good health. This is done through educational activities and exposure to tips and skills that promote healthy teeth and gums. The program began with a general dental and plaque assessment. Participants were thrilled to receive new toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss!
But there’s more to come! Future activities will include: an Apple of D(ec)ay activity that demonstrates what happens to a tooth with cavities if left untreated; a two-minute brushing and flossing exercise; quick hygiene facts; an “Egg”stra fun experiment on the effects of certain foods on teeth; a Rethink Your Drink activity focusing on sugar risks; and facts about oral health and what’s good and bad for teeth. Participants will be quizzed with final assessment questions, and will receive a follow-up dental and plaque assessment.
Every participant will get a t-shirt – and a whiter smile – upon completion!
Thank you Delta Dental for your support. As Roy Bennett said, “It’s hard not to feel happy when you make someone smile.”
