How are you planning to observe National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)? Held each October, NDEAM aims to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities. NDEAM is led by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy, but its true spirit lies in the many observances held at the grassroots level across the nation every year.

For the first time since this observance began in 1945, our nation is beginning to see an improvement in the employment opportunities for the one in five Americans with disabilities. As reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the labor force participation rate for working-age people with disabilities increased to 31 percent in August 2016.  Click here for the full report.

Learn how you can support NDEAM by visiting the ODEP website: www.dol.gov/ndeam.
