Playing for a Purpose

The Marshfield Young Professionals (MYP) group has organized a Blind Volleyball Tournament, during YPweek, to benefit Opportunity Development Centers, Inc. (ODC). The event will be held on Saturday, April 28th starting at 10:00 am at Bakerville Sports Bar in Marshfield, WI. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of both ODC and MYP, while raising funds to benefit ODC, whose mission is to empower people with disabilities to achieve their work and life goals.

This volleyball tournament is unlike any other – a tarp will be over the volleyball net, so participating teams will not be able to see the other team’s side! How fun!

In the spirit of raising money for a good cause, a few ODC staff have put together a team full of “highly professional volleyball players”.  However, they are seriously hoping that there will be an athletic trainer on-site, as they are 100% positive that someone on their team will injure themselves showing off their “fancy” moves!

In addition to the tournament, there will be raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle, music, and much more... so make sure to swing by and cheer on your community volleyball teams, while supporting a local organization!
