Summary of Position

Facility: Wisconsin Rapids
Status: Part-time positions with flexible scheduling available

This position is evenings, weekends and summer only. Responsible for on-site training and support of assigned individuals in community-based jobs and/or work experiences.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. At least two (2) years of experience working.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities / Essential Functions

  • Maintain a professional image of ODC and ODC services while working at community sites. (see Code of Ethics)
  • Responsibilities are varied, with primary emphasis on insuring the delivery of whatever work and work-related assistance individuals need to become employed and maintain their jobs.
  • Possess awareness of realistic work expectations regarding quality of work and appropriate work behaviors.
  • Ability to teach, learn and perform job tasks assigned to individual(s) at job sites.
  • Ability to work one-on-one with people with significant needs to develop skills for a work environment.
  • Ability to implement training plans established by case managers and employers.
  • Observe, evaluate, and record job performance to make recommendations concerning goals and objectives.
  • Observe and record pertinent information.
  • Break tasks down to achievable components.
  • Travel to and follow-up with employees at job sites to monitor job performance.
  • Monitor, report, and/or address concerns with quality, productivity, and behaviors of employees at work sites.
  • Maintain working relationship with employer and employees at work site to foster success and integration for employee.
  • Perform creative problem solving as needs arise for individual on work site.
  • Ability to communicate with and respond to employers questions, concerns, problems and any job needs of the employee.
  • Ability to make decisions and work independently.
  • Possess knowledge of or ability to learn about physical and mental impairments and effect on vocational and social adjustments.
  • Communicate effectively in person and written communication.
  • Work a flexible schedule – some evening hours and occasional weekend work.
  • Work cooperatively as a team with employment resource staff to manage, maintain and establish job sites.
  • Work with employment resource team to respond quickly and effectively to schedule and coverage changes.
  • Learn computer programs.
  • Provide assistance with personal care, if needed, in a discreet, respectful manner.
  • Willingness to complete first aid and CPR training and certification if requested to.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to facilitate, initiate and respond to verbal, written, computerized, telephone and fax communications.
  • Ability to demonstrate, train and/or model job tasks/duties/responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform quality inspection according to ODC’s and/or employer’s requirements.
  • Mobility to access various locations within/outside ODC facilities.
  • Physical ability to lift or transfer adults when providing personal care.
  • Physical ability to provide and/or respond to behavior intervention.
  • Lifting 25 – 35 lbs frequently – up to 60 lbs occasionally.
